MG Cyberster electric sports car showcased in India: 0-100 kph in 3.2 seconds

Along with the announcement of the joint venture with JSW group, MG Motor India, now called JSW MG Motor India has showcased the MG Cyberster concept electric supercar. The Cyberster was first revealed back in 2021 and the production was showcased Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2023. The EV is expected to go on sale in the Chinese and European markets by the end of 2024.

The MG Cyberster is based on an all-new platform built around the 2017 E-Motion coupe concept. In terms of design, the car features sleek LED headlights with DRLs and an air intake underneath. It gets an upward swooping design a split air intake and a sculpted bonnet. At the rear, it gets arrow-shaped tail lights and a split rear diffuser.

At the side, the EV gets a sleek design with multiple cuts and creases and will feature diamond-cut alloy wheels ranging from 19 to 20 inches. The car also has unique scissor doors and the EV measures 4,533 mm in length, 1,912 mm in width, 1,328 mm in height and has 2,689 of wheelbase.

Moving inside, the Cyberster features three screens for the instrument cluster with a vertically stacked infotainment system angled towards the driver. Expected features include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, in-built 5G sim, connected car tech, wireless charger, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, multiple drive modes, premium Bose audio system, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, regenerative braking, multiple airbags, Level-2 ADAS and much more.

Talking about the battery pack and electric motor, the Cyberster will be available with two battery packs and motor options. The entry-level model gets a 64kWh battery pack paired with a single 308 hp rear axle-mounted electric motor with a claimed range of 520km. It’ll also get a larger 77kWh battery pack paired with two electric motors which puts out a combined 535hp and 725Nm of peak torque. It has a claimed range of 580km and MG claims it can sprint from 0-100 kph in just 3.2 seconds.
