The Manesar facility was launched back in 2007. It came to the life after company witnessed a high demand for vehicles by customers.
In a move to push production capacity, the auto giant Maruti Suzuki has commissioned another vehicle assembly line at its facility in Manesar. It has been reported by the brand that the latest assembly line will boost the existing capability at the plant by an additional 100,000 units yearly. The addition will take the overall production level at 900,000 units per annum.
The company has also rolled out the first vehicle (Ertiga) from the newly added assembly line from Manesar. The release says that the Manesar facility has contributed over 95 lakh units in the company’s 3 crore production milestone.

There are a lot of robust vehicles that have been produced from the facility in the region. The list includes Ertiga, Brezza, Wagon R, XL6, S-Presso, Dzire, Celerio and Ciaz.

Speaking about the event, Managing Director & CEO, of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Hisashi Takeuchi said, “Maruti Suzuki is deeply committed to the Government of India’s vision of `Make in India’. We aim to nearly double our capacity to 4 million vehicles per annum over the next 7-8 years and this capacity addition of 100,000 vehicles per year is a step towards this goal. It will help us serve our customers faster and enhance our overall capability to manufacture up to 23.5 lakh units per annum.”
In addition, he said, “This new assembly line adopts technologies that enhance human ergonomics, improve productivity and enhance traceability.”
Facility Launched When?
Meanwhile, the Manesar facility was launched back in 2007. It came to the life after company witnessed a high demand for vehicles by customers. Initially, only Plant A was introduced. As the business started growing further, the company had to add Plant B and Plant C. Both were set up in 2011 and 2013 respectively.
