JEE Main 2024 session 1 result out: The National Testing Agency has released the results for Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2024 session 1 on its official website at jeemain.nta.ac.in.
Candidates can check their results by going to the official website and logging in using their application number and date of birth. After successfully logging in to the portal, candidates will have the option to check and download their scorecard from the portal itself.
The NTA conducted the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) – 2024 Session 1 starting from January 24, 2024, for Paper 2A (B.Arch.) and Paper 2B (B Planning), and from January 27 to February 1, 2024, for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.).This exam took place at 544 centers spread across 291 cities nationwide, including 21 cities outside India.
Once final results are declared and merit lists have been published on the official website, candidates will have the option to pursue multiple options such as opting to apply for IITs through JEE Advanced or take admission in other premier engineering institutes.
How to take admission in an IIT after JEE Main 2024?
You can apply for JEE Advanced 2024 if your JEE Mains score was good score. Prepare for the Advanced test, which is scheduled for the month of May. To qualify for JEE Advanced 2024, you must rank among the top 2,50,000 successful applicants (regardless of category) in the B.E./B.Tech. paper.
Alternately, consider taking the JEE Main Session 2 exam to increase your chances of being eligible for JEE Advanced 2024 if your Mains 2024 Session 1 score was somewhat lower. Aim for a higher score in Session 2 and carry on with your JEE Advanced preparation in the interim.
It is not necessary for you to take the exam if you are not eligible for the JEE Advanced. Alternatively, you can apply for admission to different NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and other engineering colleges by taking part in the JoSAA counselling process, which is dependent upon your JEE Main score.
Joint Entrance Exam 2024 counselling round
JoSAA, short for Joint Seat Allocation Authority, is responsible for coordinating the seat allocation process for admissions to various engineering programs in India. It’s a centralized counselling system used by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).
Eligibility for JoSAA counselling depends on your performance in the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. To be eligible for B.E./B.Tech. programs at NITs, IIITs, and similar institutions, you must have successfully cleared the JEE Main 2024 exam. For admission to IITs, passing the JEE Advanced 2024 exam is necessary.
Additionally, candidates should have completed Class 12 (or its equivalent), with Physics and Mathematics as core subjects, along with one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects. These eligibility criteria ensure that candidates have the necessary academic background to pursue engineering studies at these prestigious institutions.
When is counselling round expected to begin?
The JoSAA is expected to conduct the JEE Advanced counselling round in the month of June, 2024. The josaa.nic.in website will be updated with JEE Advanced 2024 counselling and seat assignments.
