Application for the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses (CUET UG) 2024 are underway. Eligible candidates will be able to register for the national-level entrance test till March 26, 2024. Subsequently the National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the exams in the month of May 2024.

Two more courses added in the domain-subject list
The NTA recently added two more courses to the CUET UG curriculum, bringing the total number of domain-specific subjects to 29. Students will be able to choose only six subjects out of 63, which include 33 languages, 29 domain-specific tests, and one general test. The testing agency advises students to choose at least one language. The two new subjects are Fashion Studies and Tourism.
Changes in the duration of exam
The Undergraduate entrance exam will last 45 minutes. Accountancy, economics, physics, computer science, informatics practices, chemistry, mathematics/applied mathematics, and general test will all have a 60-minute duration.
What are the different sections in the exam?
This year’s exam will be held in hybrid mode to encourage more students to take the national-level entrance exam. For subjects taught on paper, there may be three shifts per day, each lasting about two hours. Here are the section-specific topics-

- Language: This section will be tested on reading comprehension using various types of passages (factual, literary, and narrative), literary aptitude, and vocabulary.
- Domain-specific subjects: Questions primarily from the Class 12 syllabus will be asked.
