BPSC TRE 3.0 Recruitment: Police detain over 270 aspirants in connection with the paper leak investigation

According to a statement released by the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police, more than 270 individuals in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district have been apprehended in relation to the suspected leakage of the Bihar Public Service Commission’s (BPSC) Teachers Recruitment Exam (TRE) 3.
On March 15, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) conducted the Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE 3.0) for Primary and Middle School Teachers via offline mode. Despite the successful organization of TRE 1.0 and TRE 2.0, the Commission encountered significant protests from candidates due to alleged paper leak allegations surrounding TRE 3.0.
Following a tip-off, the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) carried out searches across multiple sites in Hazaribagh on March 14 and 15. It was discovered that candidates preparing for TRE-3, brought in from various locations in Bihar, had been provided with question papers. “On the day of the examination, March 15, candidates were supposed to leave at around 3 am for their respective exam centres. They all were detained and on the basis of their interrogation, officials managed to nab certain members of the gang involved in the paper leak”, stated the EOU, as reported by PTI.
A few days earlier, the police had apprehended five individuals believed to be the masterminds behind the TRE-3 paper leak. Question papers, computers, laptops, printers, and pen drives were seized from their possession. According to the statement, ongoing investigations have revealed that the accused had charged a substantial fee from each candidate in exchange for providing answer sheets. Further inquiries are underway.
